Supervisorial Districts map

(Click on map for a large version)

Amador County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors, each of whom is elected on a non-partisan basis from a separate district where he/she lives.

Within the broad limits established by the State Constitution, State General Law, the Board exercises both the legislative and the executive functions of government. The Board of Supervisors is also the governing body for a number of "special districts" within Amador County, such as water, sewer, county service areas, and other government entities.

Each of the five members is elected to overlapping four-year terms:

  • Districts 1, 2, and 4 elect their supervisors during Presidential election years.
  • Districts 3 and 5 elect their supervisors during State general election years.
