FRIENDS OF THE AMADOR COUNTY LIBRARY

FACL Officers and Board of Directors meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month (except July and August) in the large conference room located at the Amador County General Services Building 12200 B Airport Rd. Jackson. 

The Friends hold two major book sales a year. Two shelves of used books for sale are also located in the main lobby at the Amador County Library in Jackson. For more information on our next sale or to make a large book donation, email the Friends.

Who Are the Friends of the Amador County Library?

The organization of the Friends was formed in 1953 and is dedicated to support the goals and services of free libraries in the United States and specifically the library system of Amador County. The Friends are  a 501(c)3 non-profit group. 

How to Become a Member

An individual, family, group or even an organization can be a member by paying an annual fee. Dues are payable on January 1st for the period from January 1-December 31st. 

 List of Dues:

  • Students: $1.00
  • Individual: $7.00
  • Family: $10.00
  • Sustaining: $20.00
  • Life: $100.00
  • Organization: $15.00

A membership in the Friends provides financial support to the library. Members may attend the members only night for the bi-annual used book sale. Members receive a quarterly newsletter and keep informed of any upcoming library/Friends events.

The FACL Bulletin is published quarterly and can also be obtained at any of the Amador County Library branches or by clicking on the link to the Friends Newsletters.

How do the Friends Assist the Library System?

Members of the Friends assist by organizing fund raising events, such as our Book Sales and by actively promoting gift giving, such as memorials, estate sales, donations, group contributions and dues from memberships. Books sales are held twice annually, once in the spring and once in the fall.

Friends Board Members receive instruction on the library's e-resources.

 

To make a financial donation to the Friends of the Library please send a check to FACL, P.O. Box 701, Jackson, CA 95642. All donations are tax-deductible. Online donations can be made by visiting the Amador Community Foundation website.
