Hours of Operation
 The Amador County Department of Social Service is closed every Friday. Applications for cash assistance, food stamps, Medi-Cal, or CMSP on Friday will be available outside the main entrance of the Health & Human Services Building, located at 10877 Conductor Boulevard in Sutter Creek.  If you are applying for emergency benefits, be prepared to return to the Social Services office the following Monday before 10 a.m. to complete the next step in the application process.

C4Yourself ® is an online application system that allows you to apply for or renew benefits. This is a secured site and all your information will be private and safe.  Benefits included are:

  • CalWORKs (Cash Aid)
  • Food Stamps (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP)
  • Medi-Cal
  • County Medical Services Program (CMSP)

Interactive Voice Response Telephone System-Beginning 6/28/2010!!!

We are pleased to introduce the new 24 hour access telephone number for our clients with active cases. You can call the Interactive Voice Response Telephone system (IVR) for information regarding:

• QR 7 Status • Office hours and location
• Benefit Amounts • Case status and activity
• Reimbursements     • Medi-Cal share of cost

On or after June 28, 2010, the number to call is:

The first time you call in you will need to know your case number and Social Security number to create a Personal Indentification Number (PIN). If you are unable to access the new interactive Voice Response telephone system, please call our office and we will be happy to assist you.

Benefit payment program to help needy families.

Foster Care
Financial Assistance for those children who are in need of substitute parenting and who have been placed in foster care.

Food Stamps
Provides federal funded food coupons for low income families and individuals.

Medi-Cal
California's Medical assistance program for eligible California residents.

County Medical Services Program (CMSP)
Medical assistance program for individuals ages 21 to 64 who do not qualify for Medical.

General Assistance Program
County funded assistance program for indigent adults not aided by other federal or state assistance programs.
